Every once in awhile I get the opportunity to photograph something unique. I love shooting weddings, engagements, parties, and corporate events, but not too many adoptions come along.
When I received the call to photograph the adoption of little Kingston, I was beyond elated. You see, there are a lot of children in this world who do not have a family, who do not have parents who choose them. I know this all too well, with friends and family members who have children that are neglected because of circumstances in the parent's lives. It's one of the saddest things in the world. Bringing a child into this world is an easy thing, right? However, once that baby is here, many mothers and fathers are simply not equipped or ready to be parents. So, the baby either goes to family members or into the family court system.
At the end of the day, we all want the same thing... to be loved. So, I just want to give a huge shout-out to the family that just adopted little Kingston. They have chosen to love him, they have chosen to make him one of their family members, and they have chosen to give him a family where one did not exist.
Little Kingston will grow up feeling wanted. He will grow up with the love of his siblings and parents and he will grow up knowing what it feels like to be part of a family.
Welcome home little Kingston.
